Song: She Will

“I tried to pay attention but attention paid me. Haters can’t see me: nose-bleed seats. And today I went shopping and talk is still cheap”

As a kid Lil Wayne idolized older rappers and wanted to be just like them. But now that he has become successful even his idols are giving him attention. “Can’t see me” is one way of saying they can’t compare to his skills and they are called nosebleed seats because they are so far up the arena or stadium that the altitude can make your nose bleed.

Song: 6 Foot 7 Foot

“Paper chasin’, tell that paper, “Look, I’m right behind ya”. Bitch, real G’s move in silence like lasagna.”

In the rap world paper chasin means working hard to make some money. When you say the word “lasagna”, its pronounced with a silent G and real gangsters or G’s maneuver in silence too – they can creep up on you quietly and keep their hustles low profile.

Song: I’m on one

“You a sell out, but I ain’t buying. Chopper dissect a niggas like science. Put an end to your world like the Mayans”

Lil Wayne doesn’t want to take part in what a lot of rappers nowadays do which is to sell out, meaning they give away their talents for money. He isn’t “buying” the idea of that happening. By chopper he means his guns which he uses to dissect his enemies apart. Lastly he added a reference to the world ending as said in the Mayan calendar.

“And I be the shit, now you got loose bowels. I don’t O U like two vowels”

You get so scared of him that you get loose bowels (i.e., crapping your pants). Wayne will literally cut you and expose your bowels if you step on him. An IOU is a promise to pay people money (commonly known as “I owe you”). He doesn’t include the two other primary vowels (A and E), indicating he still owes them.

Song: Forever

“Life is such a fuckingg roller coaster then it drops. But what should I scream for? This is my theme park”

“People say I’m borderline crazy, sorta kinda. Woman of my dreams, I don’t sleep so I can’t find her”

BPD or Borderline personality disorder is a psychological condition marked by a prolonged disturbance of personality function, characterized by depth and variability of moods. Metaphorically, the woman of his dreams is the perfect woman for him. Literally, Weezy is getting no sleep so he can’t meet his dream woman.

Song: 3 Peat

“Get on my level? you can’t get on my level. You would need a space shuttle or a ladder that’s forever.”

Lil Wayne adds a poetic touch to this verse with the ladder that goes on forever. Similar to Jacob’s ladder – how else are you going to ascend to a level of fame and the heavens?

Song: She Will

“They say “choose wisely” that’s why I was chosen. Rocking like the asphalt, it’s the cash’s fault. Looked in the face of death and took its mask off”

Implying the he is the greatest rapper alive, choosing him simply is the best and wisest decision, making him the “chosen one”. Obviously asphalt is hard which is related to Weezy rocking hard in the rap game. To add to the poetic touch, he personified death by saying he stared Death in the eye (was not intimidated by Death) and removed it’s mask (revealed it as a phony).

Song: Best Rapper Alive

“The young heart attack, I spit that cardiac. You can’t see me baby boy you got dat cataracts”

Song: 6 Foot 7 Foot

“Okay, I lost my mind, it’s somewhere out there stranded. I think you stand under me if you don’t understand me.”

It’s another one of Weezy’s signature figure of speech taken literally verse. In this he is referring to losing your mind or going crazy by stating that his mind literally went out of his head and he can’t find it. If you don’t understand his lyrics and style then he looks down on you because he is on a higher level.

Song: Every Girl

“Tell ’em keep my name out they mouth if they don’t know me”

As famous as he is, he has a lot of haters but none of them really know him personally so he doesn’t give a shit about them.

“And all my niggas got that Heat, I feel like Pat Riley. Yeah, too much money, ain’t enough money. You know the feds listening, nigga what money?”

Lil Wayne’s friends carries “heat” or guns making him feel like he’s Pat Riley who is the president of the basketball team Miami Heat.

If Lil Wayne is talking money from the alleged drugs he sells, the feds or FBI might be listening so he plays stupid by saying “What Money?” This gives the feds no reason to make random accusations.

Song: She Will

“I been at the top for a while and I ain’t jump yet. But I’m Ray Charles to the bullshit”

Song: Believe Me

“Ain’t ’bout what you walk away from, it’s ’bout what you walk away with. Dead Presidents, them coffins vacant. I must be doin’ somethin”

You know that saying about not walking away from a good offer because it might not come again, well Weezy doesn’t care. At the end of the day it is how much many dollars or dead presidents you are making that matter.

Song: So Special

“Cause she my honey bee, yeah, buzz buzz. And now I’m itching and scratching, that’s that love bug”

A certain woman is his honey bee and he feels her love all over his body. Weezy cannot get rid of it and referencing love like a bug that crawls on your skin and is irresistibly itchy.
