Hello, love.

I’ve so much to tell you but can’t seem to do so when we’re together. Partly because we spend these times fooling around and trying to make up for all the times we were apart. It saddens me that we spend more time apart than together, we spend more time talking over the phone than face-to-face. So allow me to tell you some of the things I want to say to you through this open letter.

It seems so long ago when I first met you. It’s like I’ve known you for years now and I don’t remember how it was like not having you around. But I’d never want to take your presence for granted that’s why I always show you how much you mean to me. You may not know this but I’ve light candles in the church for you—thanking Him for letting you in my once romantically-deprived life. Also to ask Him to keep you safe, always.

Did you know that I love how you notice the little things about me? Like how the way I talk changes depending on who I’m talking to and what dialect I speak. You remember that I immediately look for water after a walk so you always offer me a drink. You know exactly what to say to make me smile or laugh. You tell me I’m pretty even if I’m in the middle of doing the most embarrassing thing a girl could possibly do. And lastly, did you know that I’ve been yours since the first time you asked?

You said you’ve never been loved like this before. Well I intend on loving the heck out of you so your heart better be prepared. There’s nothing you can ever do to lose my love. I’d never cheat on you or look at another guy the way I look at you, not now, not ever. God, you occupy my mind so much there’s no room for someone else.

They say love is the seventh sense which destroys all the six senses, but I don’t agree. Because your love empowers all the other senses, making me feel thrice as much. Oh, but there’s one thing you do that can make me senseless. Your kiss. You give the best freaking kisses I just go blank sometimes. And then I get hungry for more.

There’s just so much about you I love that I sometimes think my heart would burst. I love how you once spammed me with “I love you” text messages because you missed me so much. I love how you tuck your toes in when people take photos of you. I love how you scold me for always forgetting to put my seatbelt on. I love how good you always look when you meet up with me. I love how you kiss me after we haven’t seen each other for weeks. I love how you treat me—like I’m some fragile thing but you acknowledge how strong I can be as well. I love how you love your parents, your sisters and everyone in your family—it just shows how great of a person you are and how much love you’re capable of giving. I love how religious you are, you don’t like missing mass on Sundays with your family and I think that’s really admirable in a man. I love how afraid you are of losing me. Just know that I too, dread that. I’d never want to lose you.

Lastly, I want you to know that falling for you wasn’t like falling at all. It was like looking into your eyes and suddenly knowing I’m home.

Love always,

Ps. Shoutout to the universe for letting me exist at the same time as you!
