If you ask me, I consider the love of family, friends and someone special as the best kind of gifts. It’s a shame how most of us fear such emotion though.

We fear love because we almost always associate it with pain, but the thing is, real love doesn’t have to hurt. Sure it can be a little of a struggle sometimes or too much of a work some days, but if it’s the real deal, then it’s worth it.

We all have parts of us that we don’t think are all that pretty and lovable. We think these ugly parts don’t deserve to be loved and then because we have such ugliness in us, we start fearing and denying love.

For those people who love whole-heartedly and gives it their all, I’m sure someone else has advised you not to, but don’t listen to them. Because that’s exactly how you should love—unconditionally and without reservations.

For those who hasn’t loved like that or hasn’t been loved like that yet, I hope your family, your friends, your pets, your books and your music make you feel so happy you can’t fully grasp just how loved you are. And in this new year, I hope you give love a chance.

And for those who haven’t been loved the right way, I hope you realize how you should be loved. I hope you stop settling for less because that’s not the kind of love you deserve. If the person you’re with right now can’t love you right,  I hope you save yourself from that relationship and walk away. And if you were broken by the wrong  kind of love, I hope you remember that real love is a beautiful thing—and that’s why we all want it.

I hope in 2017 you let go of your fear of love. Be brave enough to let someone love you so much that  it shakes you to the core and keeps you up at night wondering how it was all possible to be this happy.
